Hello Anna! Could you introduce yourself to our readers that don’t know you yet?
Ehmm…blond, blue eyes, 168 cm 😉 Otherwise bossy, loud and not very patient. Quite often rude or maybe just brutally honest… haha. But in general, daring to say, quite funny and usually happy.
How did you start kiteboarding?
On the beach in Tarifa, and as many of us, the first half hour landing on my face…Took me couple of months to dare to try again…Did not really enjoy my first lesson! But once in the water it went pretty well, minus the usuall salty brainwashes…
You are from Czech Republic and when we think of your country, kiteboarding isn’t the first thing that cross our minds. Are there any kiting spots?
Well, there are few lakes (for example, the kiteboarding community at Musov) But I’m slightly asahmed to say, I haven’t been there! Loads of people go riding up north to Germany or Poland. The snowkiting is pretty big on the mountains… still gotta try all that back home!
What is your favorite aspect of kiteboarding?
It’s all about the variation;) You can just headlessly cruize on the water, getting rid of stress or your extra weight.. For an ego boost, showing off to crowds of tourists what a girl can do;) Or enjoying the simple fun of riding strapless with a surfboard, which I’ve totally fallen for lately…
Who is your biggest inspiration within the kiteboarding industry?
I don’t think I have any kiteboarding idol… I guess all my mates who are on the water are inspiring! Without them it would be boring! Otherwise, if I have to choose a girl I met, it would be Annelous Lammerts, she’s a star!
Where is your favorite kite spot, why is it your favorite and where do you dream to go?
My favourite spot is in Tarifa, playa de Valdevaqueros, where the chiringuito Tangana is… I rode my first 100m there. It’s a magical spot, by the famous sand dune. Thats where I usually meet up with all my colleagues. Catching tan while waiting for wind or having beers after sessions, when the sun sets and the beach goes quiet…
And dreaming where to go? I’d like to go to New Zealand and Australia!
What do you like to do besides kiteboarding?
I like loads of things, spending time with my friends. Going out for drinks or tapas, coffees or cakes; Usually being active, walk or londboard; Anything, so I never get bored! In the water I surf or wakeboard, and on the mountains, definitely snowboard! I love music, art, food and most of all above said, loads of time in my bed…
What are your plans for the upcoming months?
Im getting a new CrazyFly surfboard, the Strike, so I’ll be having fun with that..There are so many cool freestyle tricks to be learned!
Who among your kite girl friend should be our next Miss Stance?
It should be my wonderful and talented friend Ema Harmadyova… she rides with style! (And she makes most of my photos;)
